How GPA is Calculated

GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated by dividing the total quality points by the total credit hours. Quality points for each course equal the grade point value (e.g., A = 4.0, B+ = 3.3) multiplied by the credit hours. This calculator uses the standard 4.0 scale used by most American colleges and universities.
